You’re Invited To Participate In an Upcoming Seminar
Posted on September 12, 2016
KPI is exploring the feasibility of supporting an ongoing Lawrence-based and/or web-based interdisciplinary research and education seminar.
Topic: the state and local political influence of the Charles and David Koch in the State of Kansas.
In the opinion of KPI, the very wealthy exert highly disproportionate political influence in the state of Kansas, and this situation impairs the well-being of the state. This seminar will not be open to philosophical discussions of that premise. Rather, the purpose is to assess the extent of that influence, to understand the channels and mechanisms though which it operates, to examine political methods by which it can be opposed, and to make this information available to the citizens of Kansas.
Depending on interests:
—The group could identify literature and lead discussions (e.g. of Janet Mayer’s works). —KPI could provide small stipends to individuals to write and/or present a paper.
—The group could undertake collective research efforts.
