Ad Astra Per Aspera ~ To the Stars Through Difficulties

“Revenues meet new, lowered estimates.”

The Lawrence Journal World’s article yesterday on Kansas Revenues for November.
Points of interest:

1. The headline writer gets with the new journalistic honesty program and points out that Brownback’s unusual revenue success is not real.

2. You have to love Brownback’s targeting approach: first shoot an arrow at the wall, then draw the target around it zovirax 800 mg. (OK, that is slightly unfair: they drew the new target after the arrow was in flight but before it hit.)

3. However you also have to wonder why Brownback tolerated so many month-after-month missed revenue projections without revising the target.

4. But then I think I know why: repeated adverse headlines were deemed politically better than lowering the annual revenue projection, because such an admission would require expenditure cuts prior to the election.
