Brownback’s Wasteful Privatization
Posted on August 24, 2016
Brownback forced some state agencies to move out of the Docking building (which he wants to raze) into rental quarters. Consequently the Department of Administration had to raise rents on the remaining agencies to cover operating costs for all that vacant space.
This is absurdly inefficient by ordinary standards, but highly efficient by movement-conservative standards. It increases stress and cost on public agencies while diverting public funds into private hands for no reason other than ideology.
Someone needs to check whether the landlords who benefited are contributors to Brownback’s campaigns.
